Logan Kennard grew up in Carlsbad, California, where much of life revolved around the ocean. He surfed competitively through middle school and high school and played varsity golf, carrying a single-digit handicap. Golf reinforced a principle that would later carry into appraisal work: the number is the number. You do the work, post the result, and stand behind it.

After high school, Logan came to Kauai expecting the move to be temporary. Within a few months, that changed. Kauai became home, and the years that followed were centered around building a life and career on the island.

He later earned a degree in finance with a minor in economics. That background shaped the way he approaches valuation today, looking beyond surface-level comparisons to understand risk, market behavior, supply and demand, and the factors that influence how buyers and sellers react to real property.

Logan went on to build a career in residential appraisal, earning his certification as a Hawaii Certified Residential Appraiser before working for the County of Kauai in Real Property Assessment. That experience provided an uncommon look at Kauai real estate from the public-sector side of the market, including building records, living unit counts, permits, conveyances, tax classifications, and other property data used throughout the island. It also created a strong understanding of where public records are reliable, where they may be incomplete, and when additional investigation is necessary. Kauai is not a market that lends itself well to template-driven appraisal work. A North Shore CPR, a home in Kekaha, a Coconut Coast condominium, and an agricultural property with multiple improvements can present entirely different valuation problems. Land, view, access, utility, property rights, and location can influence value in ways that simple price-per-square-foot comparisons fail to capture.

Logan’s appraisal work is built around understanding those differences and analyzing each property within the market in which it actually competes. Outside of appraisal work, he spends much of his time surfing, paddling, golfing, and on the water with family and friends. Those years spent throughout Kauai have also created the kind of local familiarity that is difficult to obtain from market data alone—an understanding of its neighborhoods, roads, coastline, weather patterns, and the subtle differences between locations that can influence buyer behavior.

Keep It Realty is intentionally operated as a one-appraiser firm. Logan personally handles the inspection, research, analysis, and final appraisal report for each assignment. No trainees. No outsourced appraisal work. No assembly line. Just independent, well-supported valuation work from an appraiser who knows the market and stands behind the result.
